Our History: In 1976, after being unable to find a local engineer able to repair his 8mm cine projector, Colin Buckenham, armed with only a product manual took on the task himself. He sought advice from his local specialist company, The Radio Cine Centre in Norwich (who had been unable to carry out such repairs since the retirement of their engineer) who assisted greatly and the repair was successfully completed. Colin was then asked by The Radio Cine Centre if he would be prepared to carry out servicing and repairs of cine projectors and cameras on their behalf and a successful partnership was formed. The partnership lasted many years, until the call for such repairs ceased with the advent of video equipment in the early 1990’s. During the early part of this period the Sinclair ZX range of micro computers was introduced and Colin found himself also building and repairing these machines, adding more types of computers as they were introduced. During the early 1980’s Desk Top Publishing was added to Colin’s portfolio and through Newsline Newsletters produced newsletters and magazines for local schools and groups. In 1995 the two operations were merged to form DataTech D.T.P. and in 2004 the present company was launched as a full time stand-a-lone operation.
In mid 2008 DataTech D.T.P. took control of the 23UK Services operation with the aim of using this as an umbrella to expand the availability of our full range of services to other parts of the U.K.
In January 2010 our first outpost covering the Midlands from our new base in Coventry came into full operation. The proprietor of this operation, Matt Boyle, is a graduate of the Birmingham City University and undertook 15 months of training at our main East Anglian centre as part of his University degree. He will continue to receive the full support of the main operation at DataTech D.T.P. and our full support services will be available to all of his clients.
